A German skincare brand, made in Korea: what that means for us
Two facts, and we always state them separately. Quiet Standard is a German skincare brand. Our products are made in South Korea. What does that mean in practice? Here is our answer.
What is German
Quiet Standard is based in Germany. This is where we decide what each product is for, what goes into it and what stays out. Our routine is made for the days we live here, with a cream for the colder months among them.
What is Korean
Our products are made in South Korea by one of the world’s leading cosmetics manufacturers. We chose Korea for its experience with textures like ours: a cream that is rich yet does not feel heavy, an essence that is two thirds rice bran water.
Rice ferment is in all four of our products. It has its origin in Korean makgeolli brewing: steamed rice, nuruk and water, fermented and strained through cloth. The rice ferment we use comes from Gochang.
What it does not mean
Made in Korea does not mean ten steps for us. We start with our four foundations: cleanse, hydrate, nourish, protect. What you add on top is yours.
It also does not mean trend ingredients in the lead. Where an ingredient is in a product only in a very small amount, we say so, and we do not claim an effect for it.
What you can check
Every product page shows the full ingredient list (INCI) and the results of our consumer study, with how many of 30 women agreed. All four products are dermatologically tested, certified vegan and fragrance-free.
