The pair that decides how much water your skin holds through the day. The essence lays it down. Two thirds of it is rice bran water, it absorbs quickly, and it sits well under the cream that follows. The cream keeps it there, with nearly a quarter of the formula given over to humectants. It is rich without feeling heavy, and skin stays hydrated all day.

One works on texture, the other on moisture, and neither finishes what the other starts. On a dry day, a second layer of essence before the cream does more than anything heavier will.

✓ Water in, then held, in two light layers
✓ 68% rice bran water, in place of aqua
✓ Nearly a quarter humectants, so it does not leave

WHAT IT DOES

Barrier care + hydration that holds

Why together

One puts water in. The other keeps it there. Pressed into damp skin, the essence delivers water and what the bran carries with it. Water does not stay in skin on its own, so the cream, nearly a quarter humectants, keeps it where the essence put it.

The rice foundation

The parts milling throws away

The germ holds two-thirds of the nutrition in a grain of rice, and the bran, where our extract comes from, almost another third. White rice is what is left over, about five per cent.

From Gochang in Korea

The whole county of Gochang is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and that is where our rice ferment comes from. Sanghwang mushroom grown on brown rice sprouted in mineral water, then fermented and filtered through cloth.

What the bacteria leave behind

Lactobacillus does the fermenting and is then removed; a lysate is what stays, and unlike a live culture it keeps. Skin carries bacteria of its own, and this is here with that in mind.

Older than any ingredient list

Migamsu, the water left from washing rice, has been used on the face in Korea for centuries. Ours is drawn from the bran itself, and it carries vitamins B1, A and E.
