The third step of the routine, and the one that keeps the water where the essence put it. Rich in the jar and light on the skin, because the oil and water are arranged in ordered layers rather than simply stirred together. Nearly a quarter of it is humectants, with 2% niacinamide and a vegan PDRN made from rice germ. It does not feel heavy, and skin feels silky and nourished after applying, with a natural glow. After four weeks, skin feels softer and more supple.

✓  Skin stays hydrated all day
✓  Built for layering, more on the days skin asks for it
✓  A vegan PDRN, from the richest part of the grain

WHAT IT DOES

Barrier care + hydration and nourishment

RICH BUT NOT HEAVY

How to apply

  1. After the essence has settled, press it over the face rather than rubbing it in.
  2. Take it down the neck. The skin there is thinner, and it is the first place most people skip.
  3. Give it a minute to settle. It should feel finished, not tacky.
  4. In the morning the sunscreen goes on top. At night this is the last step.

💡Our tips

  • On a dry day, a second layer works better than something heavier.
  • Then massage it in, along the jawline and down the neck.
  • If skin feels dry under makeup, mix a little into your base before you put it on. It loosens the base and stops it catching on dry patches.

What does the work

Nearly a quarter humectants

Almost a quarter of this formula does one thing: draw moisture in and keep it from leaving. It is why this is the step that holds what the essence laid down.

Rice PDRN

PDRN is usually taken from an animal source. Ours is made from rice germ, the part of the grain milling throws away, and it is vegan.

Rice and fermentation

Four ingredients from rice and fermentation run through every formula we make: a sanghwang mushroom ferment, a Lactobacillus postbiotic, rice bran water and rice bran extract.

Consumer study results

93% said their skin stayed hydrated all day.

93% said their skin had a natural glow after applying.

87% said their skin felt nourished after applying.

87% said their skin felt protected from dryness.

87% said the cream did not feel heavy.

Consumer study with 30 women in Europe aged 28 to 60. Self-assessment after 28 days of use, 2026.

The rice foundation

All four of our formulas begin where makgeolli begins. Korean rice wine, brewed with a starter called nuruk and then left alone, because the process cannot be hurried. Brewers keep their hands in the mash all day, and somebody noticed, long before anyone measured why, that those hands stayed soft.

The parts milling throws away

The germ holds two-thirds of the nutrition in a grain of rice, and the bran, where our extract comes from, almost another third. White rice is what is left over, about five per cent.

From Gochang in Korea

The whole county of Gochang is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and that is where our rice ferment comes from. Sanghwang mushroom grown on brown rice sprouted in mineral water, then fermented and filtered through cloth. We use twice as much of it as the supplier asks for.

What the bacteria leave behind

Lactobacillus does the fermenting and is then removed; a lysate is what stays, and unlike a live culture it keeps. Skin carries bacteria of its own, and this is here with that in mind.

Older than any ingredient list

Migamsu, the water left from washing rice, has been used on the face in Korea for centuries. Ours is drawn from the bran itself, and it carries vitamins B1, A and E.

The accents

Add water and it comes back

Tremella, the snow mushroom, has been used in kitchens and skincare across Asia for centuries. Dried it looks like nothing. Add water and within five minutes it returns to its full bouncy form, which tells you what its polysaccharides can hold.

Cut small enough to matter

Whole protein is too large to do much on skin. Hydrolysing rice protein breaks it into amino acids and smaller fragments, which is how you get anything useful out of a grain.

Both halves of the job

Panthenol is provitamin B5. There is five times as much of it here as in the essence, because this is the step that holds moisture rather than the one that delivers it. It draws water in and slows how fast it leaves.

What sprouting makes

Inositol is a carbohydrate from rice bran, and one of the things that appears when brown rice is germinated. It is the same step the rice ferment begins with.

Skin barrier condition: Under strain

Skin barrier condition: Under strain
Skin type: Dry
